We’re very proud of the work we do. Our distribution projects involve new construction, system improvements, maintenance, and repair. We also work on complete rebuilds and storm restoration which includes rebuilding infrastructure, lead cable splicing and repairs, live-line work, switching, protection and control equipment, and transformers. Many of our substation construction projects include civil work, where our highly skilled team also has the ability to install and test fiber optic systems.
Florida - Hurricane Dorian
Higher Power dispatched men and equipment to Florida in preparations for Hurricane Dorian. These crews were sent to Daytona Beach to help Florida Power & Light. Thankfully for the residents of the state, the storm stayed off shore and only caused minor outages. Despite the many hours of travel and work, these crews skillfully completed their mission with zero incidents.
Florida - Hurricane Michael
In early October 2018, one of the strongest storms in decades struck the Florida panhandle and took a devastating path through much of the Carolinas. Higher Power crews responded to the call for assistance throughout the region. Our crews aided Gulf Power and Duke Energy in restoring their systems as safely and quickly as possible for the communities in need.
